Angela M. Lennox, DVM Dipl. ABVP-Avian

Dr. Lennox is a 1989 graduate of Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine, and has practiced exclusively exotic animal medicine for more than 15 years. She is currently Indiana’s only board certified specialist in avian medicine through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, ABVP. She is an adjunct professor at Purdue University, and teaches a variety of exotic animal medicine and surgery topics to both veterinary and veterinary technician students.
Dentistry BookDr. Lennox also lectures frequently both nationally and internationally, particularly at the meetings of the Association of Avian Veterinarians (www.aav.org) in the US, Australia and Europe, and the International Conference on Exotics. She has written and edited many books and articles on topics in exotic medicine. Better know publications include Veterinary clinics of North America: Avian and Exotic Practice, Seminars in Exotic Pet Medicine, ExoticDVM, and others. She is the editor of the Rabbit and Rodent Dentistry Handbook, and co-author of the upcoming textbook Clinical Radiology of Exotic Companion Mammals.

Dr. Lennox served as president of the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians (AEMV
www.aemv.org) a group dedicated to improving the standards of exotic mammal medicine. AEMV publishes the Journal of Exotic Mammal Medicine and Surgery, and is working to establish a board specialty for exotic mammal veterinarians.

Amy Durand

Amy Durand has managed the exotic animal clinic for nearly 10 years now.  Although not particularly exotic, her favorite pets are her horses Junior and Stretch.

Sarah Dehn

Sarah is a 2006 graduate of Baker College in Cadillac MI.  She is licensed as a veterinary technician in Michigan and will soon be registered in Indiana.  Sarah is head veterinary technician at Avian and Exotic Animal Clinic.
Sarah is also the founder and Pr4esident of EARPS Exotic Animal Rescue and Pet Sanctuary, an all exotic animal rescue dedicated to improving the quality of life for all exotic and non-traditional pets through fostering, adoption and education.
Sarah’s favorite exotic animal is the rat because of their intelligence and agility.  She currently shares her home with one human (her husband), two dogs, two cats, two guinea pigs, one rabbit, one iguana, one Quaker parakeet and a plethora of foster animals.
Sarah likes to spend her free time hanging out with her husband and critters, weight lifting, going out with friends, and working with the rescue group.

Pat Thorne

Pat is the Avian and Exotic Animal Clinic’s official Pet Nurse.  She assists with taking care of all of our hospitalized patients, help clients and keeps the front office organized.  Pat has over 10 years of experience in exotic animal education, and specializes in husbandry and behavior.
Pat’s favorite animal happens to be woman’s best friend, the dog, especially “Andy” her beagle.  In addition to Andy, Pat’s animal family consists of two additional dogs, one African grey parrot, one Amazon parrot, three parakeets, one mini-lop rabbits, three ferrets, one turtle, three hamsters and two degus.  Needless to say, Pat’s favorite pastimes include spending time with her animals and setting up new and interesting environmental enrichment activities for them all.
